The CPED Committee has established a one (1) year cycle.

1) Full members will need to accrue 30 HAASA points per cycle
2) Rural and Associate members to accrue 20 HAASA points per cycle
3) Student members to accrue 15 HAASA points per cycle

The allocation system is made up of and grouped into four areas of activity. Our intention is that we wanted to keep accrual of points flexible for our members.

Complete one (1) or more of the units of competency offered by TAFE (NSW) in the ISO9001 format as follows.

TAAASS401A Plan and organize assessments (Supervisor competency) 15 Hours
TAAASS402A Assess competence (Supervisor competency) 25 Hours

Associate / Student Members / Remote Members

Associate / Student members will need to complete a total of fifteen (15) points annually and attend the biennial HAASA Conference to maintain Associate membership status. Associate members will be expected to proceed to Full membership status within four (4) years of becoming an Associate.

Remote Members
The Board of HAASA understands the difficulty that clinicians who work in regional and remote areas encounter when trying to comply with CPED requirements. HAASA accepts that some learning must be completed on site at your clinic eg. manufacturer training, however, Certificates of Completion must be retained as evidence. The units of competency offered by training organisations such as TAFE (NSW) through it’s OTEN division and the on-line opportunities for further education should be utilised where possible as these provide a forum for discussion and interaction with colleagues.

Evidence of attendance and/or completion must be held for the purposes of auditing. You should attach your evidence to a copy of your CPED Return at the time of renewing membership annually and retain it for future reference. Remote members are expected to have completed a total of twenty (20) points annually and attend the biennial HAASA Conference.

NB. Regional and remote clinical locations are defined as those places that incur two (2) hours or more travel by the practitioner (one way), from outside a recognised metropolitan area.
