Options from our Resort Division
At Hyatt Regency Coolum, our Group Activities team can offer
you a range of on-site activity
options. Our activities take place amongst our magnificent
surrounds and offer the perfect environment to enhance your
Coolum experience.
Set at the base of renowned Mount Coolum, Hyatt Regency Coolum
covers 150 hectares (350 acres) over woodlands, bushlands,
rainforest, wallums and gardens, fronting onto the Pacific
Ocean with 2 kilometres of pristine ocean beach. Our activity
options can be framed and facilitated around a specific theme,
or simply organised as an active, fun and social experience.
The options below are just a sample of the 50 activity, health,
recreation and leisure options available at Hyatt Regency
Coolum.

The Activities Team
Fast and Effective Initiative Games
These activities can be structured to last from 30 minutes
to 1.5 hours, and start from. Great for physically and mentally
energising participants before the start of a session, or
to refresh and re-focus part way through. Common themes and
outcomes include teamwork, planning, having fun together,
and the group achievement of common goals. Presented indoors
or outdoors, examples include:
- The Ultimate Trust Fall.
- Chicken, Fox and Corn
- Electronic Maze
- The Bell Hop
- Rubber Ducky Rescue
- The Nitro Crossing.
- Helium Stick
Price: From $16.50 per person
The Communication Maze
A grid is laid out before your team. After a brief planning
session - your goal is to cross the grid one square at a time
without setting of any of the alarmed squares. You will not
know where they are. Your team may not speak, or make any
permanent record of the path that ultimately your whole team
must take. This activity is perfect for stimulating planning,
exploring communication techniques and highlighting the importance
of individual effort to help the whole team succeed.
Price: From $13.00 per person. (We recommend teams of no
more than 10).
Climb Coolum’s Uluru – The
Mount Coolum Hike
A walk up Mount Coolum - an isolated volcanic dome situated
next door to Hyatt Regency Coolum. The 360-degree overview
of the Sunshine Coast, coastline and beaches is truly magnificent.
Your guide will share the Aboriginal legend of Mt Coolum.
Price: $16.50 per person
The Beach Olympics
A series of five to six fun team events conducted on our
beautiful Sunshine Coast Beach.
Some examples of team events are water balloon toss, tug-o-war,
drunken waiter, tennis ball scrabble, trench and castle, beach
volleyball and holey bin - just to name a few!

The Golf Course
Home of the Australian PGA Championship, Hyatt Regency Coolum’s
golf course is rated as one of the finest resort courses in
Australia. Our extensive practice facilities include our Golf
Improvement Centre, our 260-metre all-weather floodlit driving
range tee cover and practice green. There are numerous tournaments
or social play options available to suit both the experienced
golfer and the beginner, or combined teams of both.

Group Golf Clinics
The Clinic is a perfect way to introduce golf in a non-threatening
and productive way. Ideal for the experienced golfers, and
beginners alike. Conducted on our driving range, we can offer
the tuition to increase everyone’s confidence.
Half Hour: Per Person $8 + Pro’s Fee
One Hour: $11 + Pro’s Fee
NB: Minimum charge applies of $180 per teaching
professional per hour. We recommend a ratio of 1 teaching
professional to eight students.
